Job Posting: Coordinator of Volunteers

Part-Time (21 hours) with occasional evenings/weekends

The Elliot Lake Palliative Care Program is seeking a compassionate and organized Coordinator of Volunteers to support clients, families and volunteers during a life-limiting illnesses and grief and bereavement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support volunteers delivering client care in home, hospital and community settings

  • Assess client needs and develop care plans aligned with the established practices and programs

  • Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers

  • Maintain client records and volunteer data

  • Ensure compliance with privacy, safety, and healthcare legislation (PHIPA, OHSA)

  • Assist with training, fundraising and community events

Must Have:

  • A current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Completion of Health Screener Form

  • Valid Drivers Licence, with own vehicle and proof of insurance

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and manage priorities with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with volunteers, healthcare, or community services (preferred)

  • Office and Administration experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of palliative care principles and relevant legislation is an asset

Wage: $18 to $22 hour, based on experience
